Check before you buy
- Subaru lists the raised roof rails as standard on Premium, Sport, Limited and Touring and optional on the Base, so check a Base for a bare roof; the 2022-2024 Wilderness has its own rails and needs Wilderness-listed bars.
- We could not confirm that any Forester leaves the factory with a receiver, so look under the rear bumper. A Subaru dealer listing for the 2022-2024 hitch gives 150 lb of tongue weight on standard trims and 300 lb on the Wilderness; for 2019-2021 check the owner manual.
