Best Tonneau Covers for 2024–2026 Ford Ranger: 6 Fit-Checked Picks incl. Raptor
Six covers for the new-generation 2024–2026 Ranger's 5 ft bed, from a $239 soft tri-fold to a $2,100 rack-ready retractable. For each one we list load rating, warranty, install time, Raptor fit and whether it works with Ford's bed cargo rails, plus what changed on the 2026 bed.

Fit-checked means: matched to the maker's fit guide and part number, then checked against owner reports; not installed by us (how we chose). Covers the 2024, 2025 and 2026 Ford Ranger (5th Gen (P703)); some listings name fewer model years, so check the fit note on each pick.
- New truck, new bed, new part numbers. The 2024 Ranger's bed is about 59.6 in long and 48.2 in between the wheel wells. 2019–2023 Ranger covers are sold as different parts and shouldn't be cross-shopped.
- 2026 may need its own part. A Ranger6G owner found the 2026 bed rail caps thinner than on 2025 trucks, and BAK now lists a 2026-specific MX4 (448352). Match the model year exactly.
- Raptor fit varies by brand. BAK, UnderCover, Retrax and TruXedo list the Raptor; Rough Country excludes it.
- Ford's cargo management rails rule out some covers. Retrax and Rough Country say theirs aren't compatible; one owner reports the UnderCover Ultra Flex fits alongside them.
- Load ratings separate the hard covers: 500 lb for the RetraxPRO XR, 400 lb for the BAKFlip MX4 and UnderCover Ultra Flex. Soft covers have no rating.
2024–2026 Ranger bed vs the 2019–2023 truck
| Truck | Inside bed length | Between wheel wells | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2024–2025 Ranger (XL, XLT, Lariat) | 59.6 in (sold as 5 ft / 5'1" / 60 in) | 48.2 in | SuperCrew with a 5 ft bed only, per MotorWeek's launch report. Use 2024+ part numbers. |
| 2024–2025 Ranger Raptor | Same 5 ft bed | 48.2 in | Most branded covers list it; Rough Country excludes it. |
| 2026 Ranger | 5 ft | 48.2 in | Owner reports thinner bed rail caps. BAK lists MX4 448352 for 2026. |
| 2019–2023 Ranger (previous gen) | 61 in (5 ft) / 72.7 in (6 ft) | 44.8 in | Different covers; see the 2019–2023 Ranger guide. |
What to look for in Ranger tonneau covers
A 2024+ part number, not a 2019–2023 one
The new Ranger shares a name and roughly a 5 ft bed with the old one, which is why buyers get caught out. The 2024 bed measures about 59.6 in inside and 48.2 in between the wheel wells, wide enough for 4x8 sheets flat, while the 2019–2023 bed was 61 in and 44.8 in. Every branded maker here treats it as a new application: BAK 448342 instead of 448332, TruXedo 531701 instead of 531001, Tyger TG-BC3F1205 instead of TG-BC3F1066. No-name listings that claim 2019–2026 in one part deserve a question to the seller first.
Model year matters inside the generation
A Ranger6G owner who moved a cover from his 2025 to a new 2026 found the 2026 bed rail caps thinner, about half an inch by his measurement, with the old cover's rails floating above them. RealTruck posted in a separate thread that the 2026 caps are slightly different and makers adjusted their mounts, and one member said only early builds were affected. BAK now lists a separate MX4 part, 448352, for the 2026 Ranger. Read the year range in the listing title, and on a 2026 truck prefer a part that names 2026.
Raptor and cargo management rails
Two options change which covers fit. The Raptor has the 5 ft bed, and BAK, UnderCover, Retrax and TruXedo list it, but Rough Country says its low-profile cover doesn't fit Raptor beds because of design differences. Ford also offers a cargo management rail system along the bed sides. RealTruck's listings for the RetraxPRO XR and RetraxONE MX say they are not compatible with the bed cargo management system, and Rough Country says its cover doesn't fit OEM cargo systems. One Ranger6G owner fitted an UnderCover Ultra Flex beside the rails without interference.
Load rating and what 'hard' really means
The published distributed-load rating is the fairest way to compare hard covers. The RetraxPRO XR's aluminum slats are rated for 500 lb, and the BAKFlip MX4 and UnderCover Ultra Flex, both aluminum over a polymer core, for 400 lb. Rough Country doesn't publish a number for its aluminum tri-fold, so treat it as a lockable lid. Soft vinyl covers carry no rating. If you want to lay camp gear on top or leave snow on the truck, buy a cover with a number on it.
Racks, tents and the canister
If you want a rack, pick it and the cover together. Most folding covers leave no rail for a rack. The exception on this page is Rough Country's low-profile tri-fold, which Rough Country says is compatible with bed racks. The RetraxPRO XR adds T-slot rails for crossbars, racks and tents over the cover. A retractable's canister takes roughly 10–11 in at the front of the bed, a real share of a 5 ft box, although flat items slide underneath. A roll-up keeps the bed nearly clear.

#1: BAKFlip MX4 Hard Folding Tonneau Cover 448342 — Best overall

BAKFlip MX4 Hard Folding Tonneau Cover 448342, 2024-2026 Ranger 5' Bed (60 in)
Confirm fit on listingRealTruck lists 2024-2025 incl. Raptor; 2026 owners confirm (BAK also lists 448352).- 400 lb distributed load rating
- Aluminum panels with high-density polymer core
- Patented auto-latching system
- Integrated drainage and dual-action tailgate seal
- 5-year warranty; listed for the Ranger Raptor
- Mixed owner reports on latches and seals on Ranger6G
- Separate 2026 part (448352) to check
- Warranty requires registration and proof of purchase
The MX4 is the benchmark folding hard cover, and part 448342 is BAK's fit for the new Ranger's 5 ft bed. RealTruck lists it for the 2024–2025 Ranger and Ranger Raptor at $1,099.99 (list $1,249.99), and the Amazon listing title reads 2024–2026. The panels are aluminum with a high-density polymer core in a matte black finish, rated for 400 lb evenly distributed. The latches engage on their own when closed, there is integrated water drainage and a dual-action tailgate seal, and BAK says the third brake light is never blocked. Install is rated at 30 minutes or less, with no drilling on most trucks.
Owner feedback is where it gets mixed. On Ranger6G, one 2025 Raptor owner couldn't get the latches to snap under the rail and was offered a replacement unit, and another had seal failures that ended in a warranty replacement. Several others on the same thread reported easy installs and no problems. The 5-year warranty covers you, but BAK requires registration and proof of purchase, so do both on day one. If your truck is a 2026, check BAK's 448352, which is listed for the 2026 Ranger.
Who it's for: Owners, Raptor included, who want a secure hard cover with a strong warranty and will register it.

#2: UnderCover Ultra Flex Hard Folding Tonneau Cover UX22033 — Best with cargo rails

UnderCover Ultra Flex Hard Folding Tonneau Cover UX22033, 2024 Ranger 5' Bed (60 in)
Confirm fit on listingOwner report: fits with Ford cargo management rails; confirm 2025/2026 on listing.- 400 lb distributed load rating
- Folds to the cab for full bed access
- Automatic slam latches
- Padded soft-impact underside
- 5-year limited warranty; assembled in Missouri
- $100 more than the MX4
- Cargo-rail fit rests on one owner report, not a maker claim
- Amazon title names 2024 only; confirm your year
The Ultra Flex is UnderCover's premium folding cover, and for the new Ranger it has a practical advantage: a Ranger6G owner installed part UX22033 alongside Ford's bed cargo management system and reported no interference, noting the clamps mount flush with the edge of the bed rail. Retrax and Rough Country both say their covers are not compatible with the factory cargo rails, so on a truck equipped with them this is the hard folding cover with a real-world fit report. The same owner's advice was to install the cargo rails first and the cover last.
On specs it matches the MX4. RealTruck lists UX22033 for the 2024–2025 Ranger and Ranger Raptor at $1,199.99, rated for 400 lb evenly distributed, with a matte black aluminum surface over a high-density polymer core, automatic slam latches and upgraded seals. It folds to the cab for full bed access, sits nearly flush with the rails, and has a padded underside so cargo doesn't scratch it. UnderCover backs it with a 5-year limited warranty and quotes a one-person install under 30 minutes. The Amazon title names 2024; confirm 2025 and 2026 fit on the listing.
Who it's for: Owners whose Ranger has Ford's cargo management rails, or who want an MX4 alternative with a padded underside.

#3: RetraxPRO XR Retractable Tonneau Cover T-80338 (T-slot rails) — Best retractable

RetraxPRO XR Retractable Tonneau Cover T-80338 (T-slot rails), 24-25 Ranger 5 ft
Listed for this truckNot compatible with Ford cargo management system.- 500 lb rating, the highest here
- Full-length T-slot rails for racks, crossbars and tents
- Locks at any position (TraxLatch)
- Opens independently of the tailgate
- Limited lifetime warranty
- Most expensive cover here
- Not compatible with Ford's cargo management system
- Canister takes about 10–11 in of a 5 ft bed
- Roller repairs mean pulling the canister
For a Ranger that goes camping, the RetraxPRO XR does what no folding cover on this page does: it carries a rack on its own rails. Integrated T-slot rails run the full length of the bed, so crossbars, bike mounts or a rooftop-tent rack bolt on over the closed cover. The cover itself is Retrax's top model, with double-wall aluminum slats rated for 500 lb evenly distributed, CoreTrax sealed rollers, and a key-lockable TraxLatch that holds it open at any position. It works regardless of the tailgate. RealTruck lists part T-80338 for the 2024–2025 Ranger and Ranger Raptor at $2,099.99 (list $2,399.99), with a limited lifetime warranty and a no-drill, four-clamp install under an hour.
There are two catches. RealTruck's listing says it is not compatible with the bed cargo management system, so it's out if you have Ford's cargo rails. And the canister takes roughly 10–11 in at the front of the bed, per Rack Attack's Retrax guide, which also notes a little water can get past the tailgate gap in heavy rain and that roller repairs mean unbolting the canister. The Amazon title reads 24–25 Ranger; 2026 owners should confirm fit.
Who it's for: Overlanders and daily users who want a lockable, fully opening bed with a rack on top.

#4: TruXedo Lo Pro Soft Roll-Up Tonneau Cover 531701 — Best soft roll-up

TruXedo Lo Pro Soft Roll-Up Tonneau Cover 531701, 2024 Ranger 5' Bed (60 in)
Confirm fit on listingRealTruck lists 2024-2025 incl. Raptor; confirm 2026 on listing.- Low-profile mount inside the bed rails
- Automatic tension control for all seasons
- Quick-release; comes off without tools
- Listed for the Ranger Raptor
- Limited lifetime warranty; made in South Dakota
- Vinyl gives little real security
- No load rating
- Amazon title names 2024 only; confirm your year
A roll-up suits the Ranger owner who carries bikes, coolers and tall gear more often than tools. It rolls to the cab and gives nearly the whole bed back, and the new Ranger's wider bed makes that full access more useful than before. TruXedo mounts the Lo Pro inside the bed rails for a low, clean line, and its automatic tension control keeps the vinyl taut in summer heat and winter cold, the usual weak point of roll-up covers. The vinyl has a leather-grain finish and a one-finger latch.
RealTruck lists part 531701 for the 2024–2025 Ranger and Ranger Raptor at $489.99 (regular $519.99), with a limited lifetime warranty and a no-drill install under an hour; a quick-release system lets it come off without tools. The Amazon listing title names only 2024, so if you have a 2025 or 2026, confirm the fit with the seller, especially given the 2026 rail-cap reports. A Ranger6G thread also covers adding a bed rack to a 2024+ Ranger without giving up a roll-up cover.
Who it's for: Owners who haul tall gear often and want full bed access over security.

#5: Rough Country Hard Low-Profile Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover — Low-profile hard tri-fold

Rough Country Hard Low-Profile Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover, 2024-2026 Ranger 5' Bed
Confirm fit on listingDoes not fit Raptor; not for OEM cargo systems; confirm part number on listing.- Aluminum panels in a flush, low-profile design
- Auto-latching with a single interior cable release
- Integrated drain tubes and safety straps
- Rough Country says it works with bed racks
- 5-year warranty
- Does not fit the Ranger Raptor
- No published load rating
- Not compatible with OEM cargo systems or tool boxes
Rough Country's hard low-profile cover gives the new Ranger a flush aluminum tri-fold for well under MX4 money, with a longer warranty than most budget hard covers. It uses heavy-duty aluminum panels on a black powder-coated frame, auto-latches when closed, and releases with a single cable from inside the bed. Drain tubes and safety straps are built in, and it runs fully closed or at a two-thirds open position. Rough Country lists part 47220520B at $699.95 with free shipping, a 30–45 minute no-drill bolt-on install and a 5-year warranty.
Read the exclusions carefully. Rough Country says the cover does not fit the Ranger Raptor because of differences in bed design, and that it isn't compatible with OEM cargo systems or tool boxes, though it is compatible with bed racks. There is no published load rating, so don't plan on carrying gear on top. Rough Country's product page lists 2024–2025 fitment, while the Amazon listing title reads 2024–2026; confirm the part number and model year with the seller before ordering for a 2026.
Who it's for: Non-Raptor owners who want a flush hard cover with a 5-year warranty and may add a bed rack.

#6: Tyger Auto T3 Soft Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover TG-BC3F1205 — Best budget

Tyger Auto T3 Soft Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover TG-BC3F1205, 2024-2025 Ranger 5' Bed
Confirm fit on listingRaptor and 2026 not listed by Tyger; confirm with seller.- $239, the lowest price here
- 24 oz marine-grade vinyl on aluminum frames
- Stainless steel clamps
- 5–10 minute install (Tyger's figure)
- 5-year warranty
- Vinyl gives little real security
- Over-rail bedliners need small holes cut
- Raptor and 2026 not listed by Tyger
The T3 is the least expensive way to cover a new Ranger's bed with a brand that publishes its specs. Tyger uses heavy-duty 24 oz marine-grade vinyl on aircraft-grade aluminum frames with stainless steel clamps, and the crossbars come pre-assembled and fold up with the cover. It weighs 28.44 lb. Tyger lists part TG-BC3F1205 at $239 with free shipping for the 2024–2025 Ranger 5 ft bed and says cab size doesn't matter as long as the bed matches. It carries a 5-year warranty for US buyers, and one reviewer on Tyger's page says it fills the front bed gap on a 2025 Ranger Sport.
Two checks before you order. Tyger's page doesn't list the Raptor or the 2026 model year, so owners of either should confirm with Tyger first. And as with every T3, a bedliner that wraps over the rails needs small holes cut for the clamps, while under-rail and spray-in liners need nothing. Tyger quotes a 5–10 minute install, and the cover can flip up against the cab or come off completely.
Who it's for: First-time cover buyers on a 2024–2025 Ranger who want weather protection for under $250.

How to install a tonneau cover on the Ranger
- Confirm the part number matches your model year (2024–2025 or 2026) and whether you have a Raptor or Ford's cargo management rails before opening the box.
- If you're adding Ford's cargo management rails too, install them first and the cover last, as a Ranger6G owner advises.
- Empty the bed and remove anything that sits where the clamps land, including the edge of an over-rail liner.
- Set the rails or frame inside the bed rails with the front seal tight against the bulkhead, fit the clamps loosely and center the cover so the tailgate seal lines up.
- Close the tailgate, check the seal along its full width, then tighten the clamps evenly. On a 2026, check the rails sit down on the caps and don't float above them.
- Route drain tubes (Retrax, Rough Country) through the corner drain holes, and recheck the clamps after the first week of driving. Register the warranty the same day.
What to avoid
2019–2023 Ranger covers on a 2024+ truck. The bed is a different length and width, and every branded maker sells different parts. A cheap used cover from an older Ranger won't seal.
Assuming 2024–2025 parts fit a 2026. Owners report thinner rail caps on the 2026, and BAK already lists a 2026-only MX4. Buy a part that names your year, or confirm with the seller.
Ignoring Raptor and cargo-rail exclusions. Rough Country excludes the Raptor; Retrax and Rough Country exclude Ford's cargo management rails. Read the fitment notes, not just the bed length.
Relying on vinyl for security. A soft cover stops weather and casual looks, not a knife. Gear that stays in the bed at a trailhead needs a hard cover and a locked tailgate.

What is the best tonneau cover for a 2024+ Ford Ranger?
For most owners, the BAKFlip MX4 448342. It has aluminum panels with a polymer core, a 400 lb evenly distributed rating, auto-latching and a 5-year warranty, and RealTruck lists it at $1,099.99 for the 2024–2025 Ranger and Ranger Raptor. If you have Ford's bed cargo management rails, look at the UnderCover Ultra Flex instead. If you want the bed fully open and locked at any point, get the RetraxPRO XR.
Will my 2019–2023 Ranger tonneau cover fit a 2024 Ranger?
No, not as a rule. The 2024 Ranger is a new generation with a bed about 59.6 in long and 48.2 in between the wheel wells, and every major maker sells new parts: BAKFlip MX4 448332 becomes 448342, TruXedo Lo Pro 531001 becomes 531701, Tyger T3 TG-BC3F1066 becomes TG-BC3F1205. A few no-name listings claim 2019–2026 fitment; ask the seller before trusting that. Our 2019–2023 Ranger guide covers the older truck.
Does a 2024–2025 cover fit the 2026 Ranger?
Check before you buy. A Ranger6G owner reported that the 2026 bed rail caps are thinner than on his 2025, about half an inch by his measurement, and that his 2024–2025 cover's rails floated above them. RealTruck posted there that the 2026 caps are slightly different and makers tweaked their mounts, while another member said only early builds were affected. BAK now lists a separate MX4, 448352, for the 2026 Ranger. Buy a part listed for 2026 if you have one.
Do these covers fit the Ranger Raptor?
Some do. RealTruck lists the BAKFlip MX4 448342, UnderCover Ultra Flex UX22033, RetraxPRO XR T-80338 and TruXedo Lo Pro 531701 for the Ranger Raptor. Rough Country says its low-profile hard cover does not fit the Raptor because of differences in bed design, and Tyger's T3 page doesn't list the Raptor. Look for Raptor in the listing title before you buy.
What is the Ranger's cargo management system and does it affect covers?
It is Ford's optional rail system (part R1WZ9955200A, per a Ranger6G owner) that mounts along the bed sides. RealTruck's listings for the RetraxPRO XR and RetraxONE MX say they are not compatible with the bed cargo management system, and Rough Country says its cover doesn't work with OEM cargo systems. One Ranger6G owner fitted an UnderCover Ultra Flex (UX22033) alongside it with no interference, and advised installing the rails first and the cover last.
How long is the 2024 Ranger bed?
Ford dealer specs give an inside length of 59.6 in, a maximum width of 62.4 in and 48.2 in between the wheel wells, with 43.5 cu ft of cargo volume. Cover makers list it variously as 5 ft, 5'1" or 60 in. MotorWeek's launch report says the 2024 Ranger is only available as a SuperCrew with a 5 ft bed, so there is no 6 ft option to worry about.
Hard or soft cover — which is better on the new Ranger?
Hard covers such as the MX4, Ultra Flex, RetraxPRO XR and Rough Country lock under a locked tailgate, and the first three carry 400–500 lb spread evenly. Soft covers like the Lo Pro and Tyger T3 cost $239 to $490, open fast and weigh less, but a knife gets through vinyl. On a truck that often sits at trailheads or in town, hard is usually worth the money.
Can I put weight on top of the cover?
Only on hard covers with a published rating, and only spread flat: 500 lb for the RetraxPRO XR, 400 lb for the BAKFlip MX4 and UnderCover Ultra Flex. Rough Country doesn't publish a figure for its low-profile cover, and soft covers carry nothing. A point load such as a knee or a toolbox corner can dent a panel that is fine under snow.
Can I run a bed rack with a tonneau cover on the 2024 Ranger?
Yes, with the right cover. The RetraxPRO XR has T-slot rails along the full bed for crossbars, racks and tents over the cover. Rough Country says its low-profile cover is compatible with bed racks, and a Ranger6G thread covers adding a rack while keeping a roll-up cover. Most folding covers leave no rail for a rack. Pick the cover and the rack together, as a pair that both makers confirm, because either one can rule the other out.
Are BAKFlip MX4 covers reliable on the new Ranger?
Owner reports are mixed. On Ranger6G, one 2025 Ranger Raptor owner couldn't get the MX4's latches to snap under the rail and was offered a replacement, and another had seal failures handled under warranty, while several others reported easy installs and no issues. One owner who switched went to an UnderCover ArmorFlex and was happy with it. The 5-year warranty is the safety net; keep your proof of purchase and register it.
Buy a part listed for your exact year and trim, then pick: the BAKFlip MX4 for most trucks, the UnderCover Ultra Flex if you have cargo rails, and the RetraxPRO XR if a rack goes on top.
The new Ranger punishes assumptions. Its bed isn't the 2019–2023 bed, the Raptor isn't covered by every listing, Ford's cargo rails rule out some covers, and 2026 trucks may need 2026 parts. Get those right, and the choice is simple. The MX4 is the best all-round hard cover with a 5-year warranty. The Ultra Flex matches it and has an owner report of fitting beside the factory rails. The RetraxPRO XR is the only cover here that carries a rack and still locks the bed at any point. Under $250, the Tyger T3 is the sensible buy for a 2024–2025 non-Raptor truck.
With the bed sorted, most owners look at a bed rack for camping gear and laser-fit floor liners for muddy boots. If you're still driving the previous truck, the 2019–2023 Ranger guide covers it. The vehicle hub lists every fit-checked accessory for your Ranger.
How we chose
We did not install these covers ourselves. We ranked them on published specs (load rating, materials, warranty, install time), on the fitment each maker lists for the 2024+ Ranger and Ranger Raptor, and on what owners report on the Ranger6G forum. Prices were checked at RealTruck, Rough Country and Tyger Auto in September 2026. Amazon prices move daily, so the button shows the live price.
