Check before you buy
- Factory side rails are flush with fixed mounting points (no gap under the rail): buy bars listed for the 2020 and newer Highlander by name, compare the mount in the listing photos with your rail, and check for a bare roof on base trims such as L and LE.
- We could not confirm that any grade ships with a receiver. Toyota sells one as an accessory, so look under the rear bumper before buying a hitch.
- Three-row: buy 3-row mat sets; 2-row sets leave the third row bare.
- Hybrid variant: Hybrid: up to 3,500 lb towing and battery under the second-row seats (Toyota 2025 release); roof and hitch listings are shared with gas models, but some floor liner sets exclude the Hybrid — cargo-area fitments can differ.
- A fifth-generation Highlander was unveiled on February 10, 2026 with sales set to start in late 2026 (Wikipedia); nothing listed here is confirmed for it.
Roof Racks & Crossbars
The 4th Gen (XU70) Highlander has flush factory side rails (or a bare roof on some trims), which dictates the crossbar style. Every kit here matches that roof type — no drilling, no guessing.

Cargo Boxes
Boxes are universal; the crossbars are what fit the Highlander. Pick bars for flush factory side rails (or a bare roof on some trims) first, then a box under your roof-load limit.

Trailer Hitches
Highlander hitch facts: no factory receiver confirmed; Toyota sells an accessory receiver, and aftermarket hitches have a 2 in receiver, factory max tow 5,000 lb. Aftermarket hitches bolt to existing frame holes for bike racks, carriers and light towing — the vehicle rating never rises.
