2017–2026 Tesla Model 3 Accessories That Fit
Glass roof with fixed mounting points. The Tesla owner manual says to use only Tesla-approved roof racks and prints no roof load; Tesla rates its own Model 3 rack at 150 lb. Tesla lists a Tow Package (2 in receiver, up to 2,200 lb) only for Rear-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive cars produced in 2024 or later, not the Performance, and its owner manual says not to install an accessory carrier on a Model 3 without the towing package. Check before you buy
- Glass roof with fixed mounting points and no rails: the Tesla owner manual says to use only roof rack systems approved by Tesla with a Tesla mounting accessory, so ask Tesla before fitting any other bars.
- No receiver unless the car has the Tesla Tow Package, which Tesla lists only for Rear-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive cars produced in 2024 or later. The Tesla owner manual says not to install an accessory carrier on a Model 3 without it.

Tesla lists its Tow Package only for Rear-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive cars produced in 2024 or later, not the Performance: 2,200 lb with trailer brakes, 1,650 lb without, and 121 lb for an accessory carrier. The Tesla owner manual says not to install an accessory carrier on a Model 3 that is not equipped with the towing package, so ask Tesla before fitting an aftermarket hitch. An aftermarket hitch never raises the vehicle rating.
